The Senior R&D Manager is responsible for overseeing the full Research and Development (R&D) department, focusing on product and process innovation with an emphasis on dairy and related food products. This role supports the development and optimization of product formulations, processing techniques, and raw material specifications while driving the successful execution of new product development (NPD) projects and product reformulations.
Job Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all R&D activities, ensuring alignment with business goals and departmental objectives.
Support the development of the product innovation strategy, focusing on new categories and enhancements to existing product lines.
Lead the execution of R&D projects, including new product launches, reformulations, and process optimizations.
Lead the development and launch of new products. Reformulate existing products to meet changing consumer preferences and regulatory requirements.
Conduct research and development activities to improve product quality, taste, and shelf life.
Develop and optimize product formulations and processing techniques.
Ensure products meet all internal and external quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Provide technical guidance to the team and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept generation to product launch
Skills
Job Knowledge & Skills
• Strong understanding of food science principles, food processing techniques, and quality control.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and food safety standards.
• Strong technical expertise in food product development, particularly dairy and related products.
• Proven track record in successful product launches and process optimizations.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards for food products.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP
Job Experience
• Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years relevant experience , 2 years GCC experience is plus
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Chemical Engineering
1. Dairy Industry, More preferable with experience in Mozzarella, Processed Cheese, Hammus, Dips product categories. Familiar with different protein and stabilizers function.
2. Mostly looking for a candidate with extensive experience in Dairy, prefer with a European background.
3. Knowledge of GSO, Codex or European standards
